Zhongyuan isn't one straight street — it grew around Chung Yuan University, with Shijian Rd as the spine. Walk the spine, stop at whatever looks right; the queues mark the answers.
What's still cooking late
No stall names — turnover is fast, and every regular has their own pick. The categories hold steady: fried chicken and snacks as the late backbone, hot braised food as the soul of the supper run, noodles and fried rice to fill up, sweet-potato balls, tofu pudding or sweet soup to finish. Two or three hundred NT eats very well.
Timing
Dusk to nine is the student rush — full lineup but queues. After ten is the sweet spot; weekends stretch later.
