Is the Old Street open at night?
Most shops close by five or six — buy dried tofu by day. But the night version is its own thing: empty stone lanes, lit facades, and the glowing Daxi Bridge make the best stroll and photos.
How late is the bridge lit?
Into the evening, per the district office's schedule. Go within half an hour after dark for the best light; it's windy on the bridge — bring a jacket. Ten minutes' walk from the Old Street.
Any clubs or bars in Daxi?
Close to zero — the whole town slows after dark. Drinks mean Taoyuan's Yiwen district or Zhongli, 30 minutes up Freeway 3; honestly, beer with stir-fry in town is a fine answer too.
Night eats in Daxi?
Stir-fry, noodle shops and snacks in town, some to supper hours; don't count on the Old Street. Finish with tofu pudding or fresh-braised dried tofu. Sit down by 8:30 to be safe.
Can I visit Cihu at night?
No — daytime only. Do Cihu by day and save dusk for the bridge; that's the smooth order.
Staying in Daxi, how to run the night?
Treat Daxi as the appetizer: Old Street and Cihu by day, tofu and bridge lights at dusk, stir-fry dinner in town. For a second act, 30 minutes to Zhongli or Taoyuan — book the designated driver first.
