Neili is not an appendix to Zhongli. It is Zhongli’s other half.
Its night simply looks nothing like the city centre’s.
Who holds this area up
The industrial district’s shift roster sets the trading rhythm. People off the afternoon shift at just past five and people finishing nights at eleven pass each other on the same street in two separate waves.
So dinner and supper here run to everyday categories: rice boxes, noodle counters, stir-fry, fried chicken, braised snacks. NT$200 to NT$400 a head, filling without deliberation.
No bar strip. No night-market scale. That is a fact, not a flaw — this place was never built for visitors.
The honest timetable
Before 8:30pm, choice is complete.
After nine it begins closing, and past ten what remains lit near the station is a handful of food counters and convenience stores. Night-shift workers wanting something hot after clocking off either order ahead or accept the situation.
Worth stating plainly: articles that describe Neili as a supper paradise were generally not written by anyone standing on that street at eleven.
To upgrade, move downtown
For a proper drink, the answer is central Zhongli.
One TRA stop, or a bit over ten minutes by car or ride app. Among Zhongli’s izakayas and bistros, Sanjiang Izakaya at No. 120-5 Zhongyang West Road Section 2, Hefeng Izakaya at No. 67 Xingguo Road and TOBU Izakaya at No. 381 Qingxi Road Section 1 are all thousand-review veterans; for serious cocktails, Blu Bar on the third floor at No. 101 Chunde Road has nearly nineteen hundred reviews and runs a rare professional bar line here.
To sing, Cashbox Zhongli Zhongyang at No. 88 Zhongyang East Road passes four thousand reviews, Kaiyue KTV (Zhongli) at No. 136 Datong Road three and a half thousand, and Xingguangdadao KTV at No. 8 Fuxing Road three thousand — all in one loop, detailed in the Zhongli KTV guide.
Finishing: massage is the practical move
Shift workers’ shoulders do not fix themselves.
Qianhe Foot Massage (Zhongfeng) at No. 369 Zhongfeng Road approaches six thousand reviews and Haozu Foot Wellness at No. 305 has over 3,600, both on the same stretch; Luren Wellness House at No. 61 Datong Road holds a perfect score across eighteen hundred reviews, and Qianshou Foot Massage (Zhongmei) at No. 75 Zhongmei Road Section 2 has 2,700. Full list in Zhongli massage and spa.
Forty minutes of foot work runs around NT$600 — cheaper than a downtown izakaya dinner. Deal with today’s stiffness today; leaving it to the weekend only hardens it.
One rule
If you drank, do not drive yourself back to Neili.
That road is quiet and fast at night, and cabs and designated drivers are easy to arrange in central Zhongli. It costs a few hundred dollars.
For the district as a whole, see the Zhongli guide; for the student side of supper, the Zhongyuan night market guide is the other line.
