The bad news first: Pingzhen and Yangmei hold exactly zero KTVs on record.
That is not a gap in the survey. Both districts run life-style nights — Pingzhen’s centre of gravity is Longgang’s rice noodles and the stir-fry along Huannan Rd, Yangmei’s is the Dacheng Rd eat street. Karaoke-type shops exist in both, scattered along Huannan Rd and Dacheng Rd, but their signs change fast, and we would rather not send you to a shutter already down, so none get named.
Massage is another matter. On massage, both districts stand on their own.
Singing: cross the line, five to fifteen minutes
For a room, do not circle in place. Pingzhen leans against Zhongli — Zhongfeng Rd runs you downtown in 5 to 10 minutes; from Yangmei, the Freeway 1 interchange takes about 15, and TRA from Yangmei or Puxin station is one or two stops to Zhongli. The Zhongli KTV list covers chains, local rooms and karaoke shops, and the Zhongli singing piece already splits them by type and price.
Train singers, remember one thing: the last TRA service leaves around midnight. Staying past it, plan the ride first — a taxi back to Pingzhen is cheap, but back to Yangmei it is worth lining up a designated driver in advance.
Pingzhen: the bath on Fushou Rd, the feet on Yuda Rd
Pingzhen’s headliner is on Fushou Rd.
Xiamu Foot Bath Wellness (夏沐足湯養生館) at 1F, No. 20 Fushou Rd holds a straight five stars from 1,100-plus reviews, the most in the district — a hot foot bath first, then hands, and in winter it earns an evening of its own. Yuda Rd is a second short run: Dongli Foot Massage (東立足體養生館) at No. 131 with 4.8 stars, and Juhe Wellness Studio (聚禾養生工坊) at No. 55, five stars from 120-plus reviews, a few dozen house numbers apart.
Tuina people head east. Mingliu Tuina Massage (明流推拿按摩) at No. 77 Zhongzheng 3rd Rd, five stars from 330-plus reviews; Yangsheng Tianxia Meridian Wellness (養生天下經絡調理會館) at No. 258 Xinde St, 4.9 stars. Thai is Longtai Thai Massage (龍泰泰式按摩) at No. 58 Zhengyi Rd. The full list sits on the Pingzhen massage page.
Downtown Yangmei: Huandong Rd to Zhongxing Rd
Kangzu Wellness Club (康足複合式養生會館) at No. 472-1 Huandong Rd, 4.8 stars from 430-plus reviews, is Yangmei’s most reviewed wellness house — foot and full-body both, the standard answer for the on-the-way-home crowd.
Two more downtown: Laozhai Chinese Massage (老宅中式按摩) at No. 193 Zhongxing Rd, 4.9 stars from 200 reviews, an old house converted, traditional in technique; and Jingluo Meridian Wellness (經絡調理養生館) at No. 7, Lane 107, Xinxing St, five stars from 220-plus, tucked in a lane — follow the satnav to the end the first time. One price step up, the oil-based line: Wespa SPA Yangmei (衛斯帕SPA楊梅館) at No. 168 Ruixi Rd Sec. 2, five stars from 330-plus. The rest is on the Yangmei massage page.
Puxin: Yongmei Rd is a Thai street
Most of Yangmei’s Thai massage presses onto Yongmei Rd in Puxin.
B&B Thai Massage (B&B泰式按摩) at No. 101 and Mangucheng SPA Thai Wellness (蔓谷城SPA泰式養生館) at No. 362, plus Lemei Thai Massage (樂美泰式按摩) at No. 478 Zhongshan N. Rd Sec. 1 and Sukhothai Massage & Spa (素可泰泰式按摩) in Lane 390 — four Thai houses on one walkable line, a density that ranks in southern Taoyuan. Thai runs around NT$1,200 for ninety minutes, posted prices rule.
Puxin station is within walking distance of the strip. Commuters press a session on the way home; far more practical than a special trip into Zhongli.
A drink after the press
Pingzhen has the follow-up: Jiuwo Theme Beer House (酒窩主題式啤酒屋) at No. 56 Zhenxing Rd with 460-plus reviews, and Pingzhen Container Beer House (平鎮貨櫃啤酒屋) at No. 23, Lane 161, Nanfeng Rd, 4.6 stars, open-air containers and beer, its seats harder to get on a summer night than a winter one. Yangmei closes early — stir-fry and beer at dinner is the mainstream, and past nine the options thin out.
Sang in Zhongli with drinks, or got going at a beer house — either way, do not drive yourself. A designated driver costs a few hundred NT, cheaper than anything it prevents. For each district’s night in full, the Pingzhen guide and the Yangmei guide take one page each.
